Public Relations Practice & Skillset (Week 12)

Today, we received the brief for Coursework 002 as part of the Public Relations Practice & Skillset Module. This can be found by clicking here. Keep a look out for my final copy of the assignment/briefing (and grade) in my "University Portfolio & Achievements" page above.

This afternoon was also a key date for my PR class and took a slightly different route to our regular lecture format as myself and my PR classmates were fortunate enough to meet Emma Twemlow, Account Manager and Louise Richardson, Account Director of public relations agency, Ranieri Communications. The girls were extremely insightful as they were both former PR students. Personally, they were extremely helpful to talk to about gaining work experience and job roles within the PR industry, first steps to take after university, tips for the final stages of university, what working first-hand in a real-life PR agency is like and much more. They were extremely easy to talk to and were open to all questions which was great. Firstly, let me tell you a bit about the agency, their background and what they do.

About:

Established in 2002, Ranieri have evolved into a boutique-style communications consultancy with a main focus on consumer technology. The PR agency’s expertise in this sector has been built up over 10 years through focus on this area alone. Put simply, they are consumer tech PR specialists; they know the space inside and out and are able to deliver tailored and strategic campaigns that raise brand awareness and drive sales, measure results, strategic consultancy methods and a wide range of other services that really work effectively within the sector regularly performing above competition. The team consistently provide consultative, intelligent and imaginative campaigns that help to get their clients noticed. The entire team is made up of energetic, creative and committed PR people, with strong experience and industry knowledge to boot who believe that PR shouldn’t be boring. So, not only does the agency gain successful results, but also have fun along the way.

Services:

Like many other agencies, Ranieri are expert at delivering the full range of PR services for their clients. As the PR landscape has evolved considerably in recent years, Ranieri’s campaigns are now built on a foundation of traditional disciplines mixed in with social media activity; a key component for any business within the 21st century. A digital component is evident to all campaign plans created by the team which is only fitting for a consumer technology agency.

However, where Ranieri stand out from the crowd and other agencies within the market today is through their careful consultancy and strategic planning. The Ranieri team believe that it’s this focus at the start of each campaign that provides such high quality results and ROI. Team members take time to get to know their clients and their businesses on a more personable level in order to develop messages in a more effective manner and align the PR activity with initial corporate goals. In addition, Ranieri’s measurement processes enable the team to determine the effectiveness of the campaign and to make sure that they’re hitting the mark every time.
