Public Relations Practice & Skillset (Week 15)
Firstly, I’d like to thank my
brilliant lecturer and successful PR professional, Dr. Bill Nichols for the
wide range of opportunities he has given myself and the rest of my classmates
throughout the academic year and today was certainly no exception. We were
fortunate enough to spend the afternoon visiting Cirkle PR agency based in
Beaconsfield. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and it was great to see
first-hand what a real day-in-the-life is like working within such a successful
PR agency as Cirkle.
All members of the team were
extremely welcoming and helpful. Caroline Kinsey (Chairman & Founder),
Carrie Pitt (Account Director) and Jo Vowles (Operations Director) all
proceeded to tell us that we would be working across different areas of the
agency (B2B and B2C) and how each worked on a day-to-day basis. We were then
split into different groups and each in turn were able to take on typical tasks
staff members have to face in the office each day. Firstly, Natasha Kumar
showed us how to effectively measure competitor and client B2B coverage within trade
magazines such as Grocer, Retail Express, Wholesale News etc. Next, PR
Apprentice Jessica Kirby presented an efficient and successful way to view and
measure client coverage within consumer magazines and ROI of investment on
these. Finally, the day ended with a final speech from Caroline.
As we were all fortunate
enough to had all previously met Caroline at university (please find my blog
post/written article on that event here), we felt extremely comfortable around
her and the rest of the Cirkle team and were honoured to spend the afternoon in
such a professional, relaxed and positive environment. Overall, I thoroughly
enjoyed the afternoon and I’d like to thank everyone at Cirkle for the amazing
opportunity and I hope to work/see you all again very soon.

Cirkle’s infectious culture of good mojo runs throughout the
agency, with our teams radiating a positive spirit, a compelling magnetism and
a captivating energy in everything they do. When it comes to consumer PR, Cirkle

So far, Cirkle are proud to announce that they have done it
brilliantly for the likes of clients such as Jack Daniel’s, Remington, Chewits,
Russell Hobbs, Jubilee Strawberries and Right Guard. The B2B team unleash their
inner mojo by creating best-in-class communications for superbrands like GSK Lucozade,
Ribena, Horlicks, Aquafresh), Premier Foods (Ambrosia, Oxo, Hovis), PepsiCo (Walkers,
Tropicana, Quaker), and Ferrero (Nutella, Tic Tac), and Kerry Foods
(Cheestrings, Mattessons, Wall's) – being The Grocer’s Trade PR Agency of
the Year says it all. Intensely passionate about building fmcg brands,
Cirkle’s campaigns stimulate conversations, influence attitudes and drive
commercial impact through powerful engagement tools.
Cirkle’s cultures of good
mojo feeds the teams’ successes and are current proud holders of PRCA’s Medium
Sized Consultancy of the Year and SABRE Employee Engagement (EMEA). We’ve also

Editors Note:
Remember when I set myself a few targets at the beginning of the academic year in September to achieve a few internships/work placements?
GOOD NEWS!
I have been lucky enough to
secure a two-week work placement with Cirkle PR agency during the Summer and cannot
wait to start! I'd like to thank Cirkle for allowing me to gain experience with them during this time and can’t wait to learn so much more.
