Goodbye 2012. Hello 2013.

By Erica Wenham, Sunday 06 January 2013.

"It was the best of times. It was the worst of times."

I've never been so happy to kiss one year goodbye and start a new one. 2012 was tough for many reasons and I look forward to starting 2013 on a clean slate. I'm not one for New Year's Resolutions but I do hope to achieve a few personal goals this year.
  1. Gain 5 internships/work placements within successful PR/Marketing Agencies;
  2. Spend more time in the library; This is a key one for me, anyone who knows me on a personal basis knows that I stick to what I know and hate change. I want to widen my knowledge base this year and make more use of my university's resources, books, journals and more;
  3. Achieve at least a 2:1 overall grade for my second year of study;
  4. Implement effective revision techniques in preparation for exams.

Remember to keep a look out to see what goals I have/haven't achieved throughout the year!

As much as I loved the relaxing Christmas period, I'm excited to be heading back to university today for the new term. Before Christmas, I was required to hand in various pieces of coursework and I am eager to find out the results.

I certainly won't be jumping on the "New year. New me." bandwagon this year but I do hope to make a few changes to my life. I want to grab all opportunities with both hands and try my very hardest at everything I put my mind to. 2012 saw me lose a hell of a lot of confidence and I am determined to succeed this year. Failure is not an option.
